Yeah, Christmas is great, but I think our family puts more time and effort into Thanksgiving. The planning, decorating, baking, laughing, spending time together, is what makes this holiday special. We even have a family tradition that was started looong before I was born- The night before Thanksgiving, our family gets together (usually at my grandparents') and we have a HUGE campfire. We than, take the hot cols from there, and pile them in the button of our 4ft hole dug before then. We place the turkey (seasoned, wrapped in foil and inside a covered pan) on top of the cols and put more cols on the top, than bury with dirt. On Thanksgiving we dig up the turkey and it tastes sooo good! And that is what we call a dirt turkey.

But there's one thing that made this year, even more special. We have 2 new family members! 2 little boys who spent their lives far away in Ukraine, in an orphanage with no celebrations. 2 broken souls that have been healed, since living in a family and a home. 2 kids that just experienced their first Thanksgiving, two days ago. So this year, we have more to be thankful for. Two more.
Oh, and, one more thing.......
Tomorrow morning we are going camping! Well sorta. We'll be on vacation for 4 days in Fort Wilderness at Disney World :) Levi and Gabe's first vacation and our first get-away as a family of 7! Don't worry, we'll come back with plenty of pictures!
Love,
Genesis
